Everett
Bonds: "I was born in Rio Grande, Texas. My mother
was of Mexican extraction and father was serving in the U.S.
Cavalry when they met. We later moved and I began my education
in Garden Grove, California. I have served in the United
States armed forces and was a lab technician for five years.
However, I grew up working in the plumbing trade since my
father was a plumber. We lived in Florida, because my wife
refused to live anywhere else ( she was born in Inverness,
Fla.). She knew something I didn't know. I have
always thought of the United States as my home, and I have
lived various places, such as Washington state, now. After
working at different jobs, I finally went to college and
graduated from TCC. (Tacoma Community College) They placed
great emphasis on their graduates being able to write. Even
though a teacher had asked me to write a poem entry for her
poetry booklet she published for the college every year,
I was really surprised she would ask me. Up to that time,
I had never written a single poem. After seeing
my step-daughter's Bernadette's poetry, I began to entertain
that notion. Now, I have been writing poetry for about two
years. It is very enjoyable for me to write poetry. I also
am a frequent visitor to www.publisherdatabase.com.
It is wonderful to talk to other poets about their work.
I also
try to write songs, but I am much more comfortable writing
poetry."

Walter Durk: I've written, on and off, for many years, but certainly not as much as I should have. My educational background is varied, with a B.A. in Political Science, emphasis on Ancient and Medieval Political Philosophies, Psychology and most of an Associate in Science, as well as other studies. Individually, I have studied short stories of some of the finest writers, and have read a variety of important literature. A few favorite writers are: Thomas Hardy, Mary Oliver, Jack Gilbert, Tennessee Williams, Truman Capote, Zora Neale Hurston, Bertolt Brecht, Albert Camus, Martin Buber, Jean Genet. One of my favorite Literary Reviews is the Bellevue Literary Review. I am interested in nature, Metaphysical and Spiritual concepts, some of which I express in my writing. I believe in peace, am anti-war of any and all forms, believe in diversity, gender equality, humanity, and animal welfare. I believe in Socialism, and I believe Capitalism is not the best form of government or economy for most people. I am an Existentialist and presently live in the Unites States.

Achievements include: "My three beautiful daughters are my greatest achievements! They are my heart, they are my joy—they are MY LIFE!" "My beloved grandmother, who passed away this past February at the age of 94, was my strength and my heart. It is because of her I have picked up may pen again after 14 years. I began writing again after she passed to help ease the pain and fill the void losing her left in my life. She taught me, in death, that life is short and that should realize my dreams now before it is too late. My life's dream was to write a novel, and I am now in the midst of pursuing that dream and making it a reality—for her.”
“I'm going to make it this time, Ma—just you wait and see!"
Shishir Gupta: A poet and story teller given to uncovering inner crevices of human psyche. In particular the mores and practices that we have established since we set up our present civilization needed to be altered for the better in the fast changing global scenario. However that has not been the case. "I write fiction and poetry to emphasize such aspects. In fact my majority messages deal with creating a new philosophy of life. I love like minded people whether writers or not.Essential to such a new philosophy is fairness in all things we do. Fairness is a standard as is accepted by the process of voting in all life matters. However sometimes I love to dwell deep into human emotions and miseries as well. I would really appreciate if a few of my poems and stories are "read and understood" rather than "all of my poems and stories are read [in a] skimpy manner. Reader's pleasure is assured to be multiplied several times when former approach to reading my poetry or fiction is adopted. And a reader who reads a few of my poems or stories and understands their intended meaning is bound to take on others for much deeper understanding. I am a banker by profession and reside in India.I have a keen desire to be in Europe and America to understand people and cultures from a closer angle."

Robert Leckie: "I’ve always been a poet. Born a poet you might say. I have written continuously since I was very little. I used to spin out poems in quick succession with great ease but nowadays there more complicated. My most recent work “forks in the road” is a reflection of how I see life. I wrote this piece with some degree of flexibility but I often think we should never be so quick to judge those who simply made the wrong decision. This piece goes much further than this though and I’m sure you will find some meaning from it too. My favorite poet is Robert Burns. I can’t say he influenced my work as such because my work is so different. I especially like tam o’ Shanter for the shear fantasy. Hope you enjoy my work and I will submit more hopefully in the near future."
Ross Leese: "I'm 27 years old and live in the north of England. I'm fairly new to poetry although I've been writing since I was young and I have recently had poems published in the Truth Magazine and Poetry Cemetery with more awaiting in Word Riot and Alba magazines."

Sharran Windwalker: "I was born November 20, 1964 in Fredericton, New Brunswick where I lived my first three years before moving to B.C. In 1974 I moved with my family to the Chilliwack area, also known as the Upper Fraser Valley, where my grandfather had a farm in the foothills of Promontory/Ryder Lake area. On that farm I came into first-hand contact with nature and life as it exists outside the human fish bowl, so to speak. At Watson Elementary, the local grade school, I met a teacher who saw my innate abilities and encouraged me to believe that I could succeed despite my handicaps. By the time I was 20, I realized I was never going to fit, or be accepted, in the normal world. One parent tried to have me committed to a mentally handicapped home and the other insisted I should try for any and every menial job available such as washing cars or peeling potatoes. But something inside simply refused to be so shackled, and fought back. For the past seventeen years I have been pondering the meaning of life; and writing my thoughts in a format some call free verse and some 'inspirational prose.' And that's it."
